Benedictine Links
St Wilfrid was one of the first people to introduce Benedictine monasticism in England.
Ripon was a Benedictine monastery from 658 - when Wilfrid became Abbot - until it was sacked by the Danes in 948.
The Benedictine monks of Ampleforth Abbey will be singing Vespers at Ripon Cathedral on May 16.
